ABOUT
BIO
Pablo Plaza is a Spanish tenor whose journey into the world of music began in Madrid under the guidance of Ana Benavides, Roberto Mallorquín, and Otilia Fidalgo, among others. He trained in piano, voice, and violin, and also explored disciplines such as topography, architecture, and classical and contemporary dance. Despite his varied interests, he ultimately found his passion in singing.

During his studies, Pablo was awarded the school's excellence scholarship. Additionally, he has reached the finals of several singing competitions, earning third prize at the Concours de Béziers in 2023.

His career began in musical theater in Madrid, where he participated in productions such as "Young Frankenstein." Despite receiving job offers in musical theater in Spain, he decided to continue his education in Geneva with Clémence Tilquin. This crucial step led to engagements at prestigious venues such as the Grand Théâtre de Genève and the Opéra de Lausanne, where he contributed his voice to the choir.

In addition to his choir work, Pablo Plaza has performed several solo roles, including Florival in Grétry's "L'amant Jaloux," Sancho in Boismortier's "Don Quichotte chez la duchesse," Albazar/Narciso in Rossini's "Il Turco in Italia," Un chanteur in Camille Erlanger's "La sorcière," and Peter Quint in Britten's "The Turn of the Screw," presented in Geneva in June 2024.

Completing his studies at the Haute École de Musique (HEM) with Clémence Tilquin, Pablo Plaza is pleased to announce that he has been selected to participate in the Opera Studio of Biel/Bienne for the 2024/2026 season, where he will work with Marcus Niedermeyer.

Currently, Pablo is preparing new solo roles for the upcoming 2024/2025 season, along with several operas as a chorister that will be announced very soon.
